Let's Train Together!

Thought about starting an exercise routine but not sure how or where to begin?

How about working one-on-one with a trainer?

Benefits of exercise

The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous aerobic activity, or a combination of both, for adults. It also recommends moderate to high intensity strength training at least 2 days a week. Adults of every age and every fitness level can benefit from beginning an exercise program.

Think you can’t? Think again. From improving balance and coordination, to flexibility, to cardiorespiratory fitness, to strength, there’s something for everyone. We will start where you are.

Why

The gym can be intimidating and often too crowded (not to mention, membership is expensive!). Boot camp and small group training classes can be impersonal and difficult to fit into your schedule. If you have an injury, classes can't always effectively work around that. Expert guidance and a tailored plan will help you achieve your goals quickly.

How

I will come to you to provide a customized plan that fits your body and your life. I believe in finding the minimum effective dose of exercise to get you doing the things you want to do, whether that’s chasing after kids, grandkids, or pets, feeling confident as you run errands around town, easily moving heavy objects around your house and yard, or attempting a challenging new hike. I’ll follow up with ongoing coaching and feedback to help you reach your goals.

Results

Structure. Empowerment. Habits.

We all know what we should do, but we often need help in doing it. I provide that help, and you become knowledgeable and empowered to make movement a regular part of your life. Your confidence improves along with your fitness. The everyday tasks you have to tackle become just a bit easier.

Client stories

When Kate O’Dell began training me, I was recovering from hip flexor tendinosis from competitive rowing and from a cervical spine injury from a car accident. I also had frequent knee pain that was affecting my ability to take long hikes. After taking a thorough inventory of my injuries and goals, she designed a program to help me reach my fitness goals and to strengthen target areas that would help alleviate my pain. Kate is hands down the best personal trainer I have ever had, even considering her being in a different city! Since starting with her I have noticed a significant increase in my overall energy levels, and strength. The best thing for me is that I no longer have the nagging aches in my back and knees. I really appreciated how she kept my constraints in mind (new mom, post-pregnancy challenges, demanding work schedule) to create workouts that were just the right length while still being fun and challenging.
